How can we recognise misinformation and check the evidence behind online claims? Register now for our upcoming webinar, ‘Open data, academia, and ethics: fact-checking and countering misinformation’!

Join us on Friday, 6 November, from 10:00 to 11:15 CET to discover how open data, digital tools and research can support fact-checking and help us assess information more critically. This third and final episode of the ‘Open data, academia, and ethics’ series will explore how biases shape our interpretation of claims and how practical verification strategies can help counter misleading information.

Featuring Elena Musi (University of Liverpool) and Florian Stoeckel (University of Exeter), the session will introduce misinformation-prevention and pre-bunking approaches, demonstrate a research-based fact-checking tool, and explore how smart data helps uncover the causes of misinformation. It will also examine how people distinguish true from false information, use fact-checking websites and respond to social media content. The webinar will conclude with an interactive Q&A session.

If you have any problems filling in the registration form, we recommend trying a different browser or a different network.
