Register now for our upcoming webinar, ‘Open data, academia, and ethics: responsible use of AI‑generated and synthetic data in research', taking place on Friday, 5 June 2026, from 10.00 to 11.00 CEST.

This webinar is the second episode of the series “Open data, academia, and ethics”, a three‑part programme that explores how open data and emerging technologies shape research integrity, knowledge production, and public trust. In this second episode, we focus on responsible use of AI‑generated and synthetic data in research. While such data offer important opportunities to address issues such as scarcity and privacy concerns, they also introduce risks such as hidden biases, distortions, and reduced transparency. The session will explore these challenges and discuss how researchers can ensure robust, accountable, and ethical use of such data.

The webinar will conclude with an interactive Q&A, giving participants the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a calendar invite and webinar link. This session is part of the ‘Measuring the impact of open data’ course by the data.europa academy and will be recorded for future access.
